Following a number of incidents at races last season we would ask that teachers and parents familiarise them and their children with the rules below as to what behaviour is expected when participating in our XC events.

Rules and guidance for children and parents
 |
Please do not line up too early.
You must listen to and obey any marshal’s instructions.
Line up in an orderly fashion, if there is a rope or line you must wait behind it.
Feet must be behind any line and you should not be touching the rope.
Slower runners should stay to the back of the start line.
Do not set off until you hear the whistle.
|
| You must not push, pull or obstruct any other runner.
Running is a strictly non-contact sport.
Be courteous to other runners and to marshals.
Follow any flags or tape and do not cut any corners. |
 |
 |
Children should run of their own accord and at their own pace within the race.
It is fine to shout encouragement but teachers and parents should not run alongside children shouting instructions as it can give those children an unfair advantage. |
Failure to adhere to any of these rules could result in children being disqualified.
Repeat offenders may be barred from future events
